The crackdown on bars, gogos, massage parlor and karaoke bars has expanded to include restaurants in search of Human Trafficking, the UN term which also includes using people for illegal acts for profit. Chonburi Immigration Police headed by Pol. Col. Athiwit Kamolart are targeting areas of Pattaya before expanding efforts outside of Pattaya. The Pattaya Police are also active and recently swept Beach Road waterfront clean of hookers.



Further police raids have continued on businesses that provide are alleged to offer sexual services and owned by foreigners and Thais in Pattaya.
Coyotes, a well-known gogo on Walking Street and Cats a gogo were raided by Immigration police.  A karaoke bar was also raided.  In all three raids arrests were made with charges that could be as severe as Human Trafficking.
Even the manager of a seafood restaurant on Pattaya Third Road was also charged with Human Trafficking for allegations of providing underage girls for sex.
Among the latest businesses that have been caught up in the recent raids are popular massage parlors that have ladies sitting behind glass with numbers attached to their colorful outfits.

One massage parlor was fined. It was run by a Thai national and her European boyfriend and has been operating for a number of years.
It follows other raids that closed a Sunee Plaza bar and resulted in the arrest of French national Jean Eric Lopez. The raids are expected to continue for some time as law enforcement targets foreign owned businesses that may provide sexual services. Karaoke bars were also raided by immigration police and foreigners from Laos were detained.
Even public places like the sidewalk of Beach Road were swept by the new Pattaya Police Chief Colonel Nantawoot with his squad and volunteers. Forty women and 20 close resemblances of women were taken to the police station and charged with loitering with intent and prostitution.
