Chonburi Governor Announces Strategies for 2010 to Assist Locals
Chonburi Governor Saenee said, “The new policy that I want to implement focuses on the vision of ‘Release Stress and Create Happiness’ to the people who visit Chonburi no matter if they are Thai or foreigners. The work will focus on creating a smile on the peoples’ faces. To achieve this, I will bring together the governmental sectors, private sectors, and the local people.”
“The nine strategies that we have are;
1. To stop and prevent drug problems in children by creating awareness with the help of smallcommunities, local schools, families, and other governmental institution.
2. To improve the water supply system to support the need of local people as well as farmers.
3. To assist farmers to help them generate more products and profit.
4. Implement His Majesty the Kings’ ‘Sufficient Economy’ project to the local people by teaching them to be reasonable, know when it is ‘enough’ and how to protect their money.
5. Hosting the 39th National Sporting Competition Chonburi Games in December 9–19 to strengthen the relationships of visitors from different provinces and to represent Chonburi as a tourist destination, plus to show that Chonburi is one of the leading economic provinces in Thailand.
6. Build a 30– meter city pillar shrine in Chonburi to represent the heart of the people.
7. Prevent and reduce road accidents especially during the holiday season.
8. Develop and improve the curriculum of local education to be in standard with private education and
9. To support those who are less fortunate and the disabled with the benefits they should receive.”
