Danish singing legend Johnny Reimar is visiting Pattaya to see the work of Father Ray Foundation and to meet many of the 850 under privileged children and disabled young adults in Father Ray Foundation’s care. Father Ray Foundation is Pattaya’s largest children’s charity.

Johnny, whose music has topped to Danish hit parade since the 1960’s, is also one of the leaders of the Danish Foundation for Pattaya which is based in Copenhagen. The Danish Foundation has just given Father Ray Foundation over one million Baht to build a “Half Way House” at the Father Ray Drop In Center on Thepprasit Road.

The donation follows a visit made by Mike Lancaster, Development Director at Father Ray Foundation, to Copenhagen in October, when he met Johnny and other members of the Danish Community who have supported Fr. Ray’s work over many years, and a request was made to help the Father Ray Drop in Center.

The “Half Way House” will allow six young people to move permanently off the streets, and live semi–independently for up to six months, before they become fully independent young adults in the outside world. This is a very important additional service to be provided by Father Ray Foundation. The “Half Way House” is planned to open in the summer of 2010.

With 850 needy children and disabled young adults in their care, Father Ray Foundation needs continuous support. Make donations at www.fr-ray.org/donate or call 038 716 628 or e-mail: pr@fr-ray.org
