PSC Golf From Mulligans Lakeside
Tuesday, January 12 saw our group arrive at Rayong CC, eager to take on the course from the proper white tees, as they had been closed our last two visits, in preparation for the recent Asian Tour Qualifying. Alas, we were unable to duplicate the good scores achieved by the young hopefuls, with only Jeff Wylie (5) matching his handicap with 36 points, highlighted by an eagle on the par 5, 11th. In 2nd placing was Frans (22), or as some refer to him, Hans, with 34 points, which could easily have been several more, as he was striking the ball very well, next time maybe. The near pins were shared around between Jeff, Frans, Derek & Tony W.
Thursday, January 14 and we were off to that jewel, Treasure Hill, I had some concerns following a recent golf report that the course may have slipped since our last visit (when it had been great), but we found it in very good condition, while still a tough test. The test was again too much for our small band of golfers, where with the elements, combined with tricky pin placements, made some holes, Tough! 34 points was the best anyone could manage, that was Jeff W (5), while collecting 2nd was Tony Weresay (16) with a score he was not proud of, so it has been withheld. Suffice to say, there is plenty of room for improvement, however as I have seen before Treasure Hill is a very unforgiving venue, with punishment meted out for wayward shots, that is why some don’t like it, it’s too tough for them, while golfers love the challenge. The near pins were collected by Andy, Jeff & the two Tonys snaring one each.
Our numbers were down a little this week, as some of our regulars supported the PSC Club Championships, sadly none were overly successful, but enjoyed the course, I am told, well played, all.
Mulligans Lakeside plays golf generally on Tuesday & Thursday (we sometimes change to accommodate a Thai Holiday), presentations are made at the course on Tuesday, with Mulligans Lakeside hosting the Thursday presentation. For more details on scheduling etc, please call Jeff 089 094 1841 or Ray 081 935 8088. Hope to see you there, Cheers & Good Golfing.
