PSC Fishing from Bangsaray Harbour - PSC - Fishing - Bangsaray Harbour

Our crew today were predominately from Bangkok, and being of a much younger age than yours truly they decided they would like to start out at 6.00 hours (For the non military types this means 6:00 am in the morning).

This meant rising at 4:00 am. Strange really because when I was their age I was just going home to sleep?

Never mind it was a perfect day for being out on the boat. The sea was reasonably calm and the temperatures just right. So, yours truly climbed the ladder to the upper deck and the sound of the deep throated engine and the gentle roll of the boat soon had me snoring for the first hour.

With the tides not so favourable for morning fishing we went to the smaller variety species first for about 3 hours. A nice catch of snapper and grouper along with a few Pla dang whetted the appetite for bigger things to come?

When the tides turned the skipper moved to the area's where we normally catch a few big uns.

Straight away the small rod set up, bent over double and with a lot of care and playing for about 15 minutes, yours truly landed a 4 foot shark.

This set off the trend for the day and Michael (yes another one) landed a nice 1 kilo snapper. just the right size to fill a plate.

Then the big rig screamed and bent over. It was Richards turn to have some fun and about 20 minutes later he hauled up a beautiful 15 Kilo Queen Fish (depicted in photo).

And so it went on until about 14.30 hours (gotcha again) 2:30 pm. the boys said lets go and get the fish home to have for dinner.

I know I have said it before, but now we have one of the best boats in the area and a very good, hard working skipper the fishing days are becoming a real treat. (Once you get used to getting up early).

The order of the day is to bring your own food and drink, and plenty of sun block. The sea air and the sun bouncing back off the water soon starts to redden even the hardest of skins.

Next scheduled trip is the 2nd January 2010 with just a couple of spaces left if anyone is interested.

After that it is the 16th January 2010 and then every 1st and 3rd Saturday of the month.

If your interested please do not hesitate to call me Mike Gerrard on 087 091 7565 to book your place. If it is your first time you will need to pay a deposit of 1,000 baht at the Pattaya Sports clubhouse on third road, next to the Pattaya Golf Driving Range.
