NASA Says the World Will Not End in 2012 as Predicted
For years an “underground” internet community has evolved in Pattaya mainly of expats and foreigners who have been quietly buying land in Isan’s Korat Province. They believe Nostradamus who predicted in 1555 the world would end on December 21, 2012 with the coming of the third anti-Christ and “After there is great trouble among mankind, a greater one is prepared. The great mover of the universe will renew time, rain, blood, thirst, famine, steel weapons and disease. In the heavens, a fire seen,” as he wrote.

“Be it enlightenment 2012, Mayan prophecy prediction year 2012, Nostradamus 2012 predicciones Armageddon doomsday happen, horrible polar shift... everything bogs down to... what is going to happen in 2012!,” from the website 2012 End of the World, just one of many such claims.
Nostradamus’s most famous work was Les Propheties ("The Prophecies"), which had the first edition published in 1555. His prophecies were
written in 'quatrains' (verses of four lines). Since the publication of this book, which has rarely been out of print since his death, Nostradamus has attracted an enthusiastic following including an old-timer in Pattaya with a Security company who truly believes there is a conspiracy keeping the world from knowing about the cataclysm coming, so the Pattaya Times will dispel the theory and the conspiracy.
Popular press credits Nostradamus with predicting many major world events. He has accurately made over twenty-five correct predictions, which can include the date and sometimes even the time as well as the names like Napoleon and Hitler.
The Pattaya theorists also refer to the Mayan Calendar saying it stops on the date so the world will end on December 21, 2012, save and except a few areas of Earth that will be spared by the gigantic meteorite and other calamities.
The foreigners buying land in the plateau of Korat believe the rest of the Earth will sink like Atlantis and Mu save and except the Korat Plateau.
There apparently is a great deal of interest in celestial bodies, and their locations and trajectories at the end of the calendar year 2012.
