Emergency teams in Pattaya will now attend critically ill patients free of charge.

The Emergency Medical Institute of Thailand together with Pattaya City along with 11 other medical units recently joined together to offer a 24- hour emergency medical service to people in Pattaya by calling 1669.

The service focuses on helping patients quickly before sending them to the hospital free of charge.

Dr. Chatree Jaroenchiwakhun, Secretariat of the Emergency Medical Institute of Thailand said, “We are delighted to have 11 medical units like the Bangkok Hospital Pattaya, Pattaya Memorial Hospital, Pattaya’s Water Rescue team, the Police Stations just to name a few, who have come together to offer the citizens and tourists of Pattaya a 24-hour emergency medical service without expecting anything in return.”

Pattaya Mayor Itthiphol Kunplome added, “The emergency medical service that we have created will help patients who are in critcal condition such as patients with heart failure. I believe that the service will reduce deaths because patients will be able to receive medical help before they are sent to the hospital.”
