TAT Continues to Promote Pattaya to Draw in International Tourists

The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) Pattaya Office recently held a meeting with representatives from The Department of Local Administration along with the private sectors to discuss the marketing strategies for 2010 with the purpose to promote Pattaya to international tourists.



TAT Director Niti Kongkrut, Deputy Mayor of Pattaya Weerawat Kharkhai and Mr. Jamroon Vitsawachaiphan, President of the Pattaya Business and Tourism Association together with the Provincial Administration of Chonburi plus travel agents in Pattaya attended the meeting to discussthe marketing strategies that will help to promote Thailand, especially Pattaya’s tourism overseas to attract more international tourists.

During the meeting, promotional plans were discussed that will attract not only international tourists but TAT Continues to Promote Pattaya to Draw in International Tourists also tourists from the domestic market. The budget that was announced at around 18 million baht. Out of the 18 million, it was said that 15 million baht will be used for international marketing while the rest will be used for domestic marketing.

Thailand will hold an International Trade Show as well as attend trade shows in other countries which are The ATF 2010 in Brunei, The OTM 2010 in India and The ITB in Germany.

They also announced that the main international marketing will be focused at the Middle Eastern region because Thailand is already receiving travelers from that area. The committee also talked about how the trade show will be planned and structured.

To promote domestically, TAT will have road shows around March 22-26 in the North and the Northeast area of Thailand because the popularity of the tourist attractions in those areas are growing dramatically especially in Khon Kaen, Udon Thani, Udon Ratchathani and Nakhorn Ratchasima.
