John  Sharp,  former  Chairman  of the Board  for Four Seasons and Regent Hotel Corporation  said,  “I worked with Barry Sullivan in 1985 when he was Vice President of Construction  for Southland Financial,  developing  the  Four  Seasons Hotel  in  San  Jacinto  Center  in Austin, Texas.  Barry brought this US$70 million hotel project in for us on time, and on budget. This was one of Four Seasons most  successful  hotel  projects;  I  highly recommend  Barry  Sullivan  for  any  design or construction enterprise.”

Barry  Sullivan,  who  holds  a  Master’s  Degree  in  Architecture,  has  been immersed in the design and construction industry for over 38 years. He began his work  in Thailand  in  1994  coming  from the USA to conduct an in depth feasibility  study  for a unique  factory, proposed to be  located  in  the province of Nakhon Rachisima.    The  factory  was  to  utilize a  unique manufacturing  process  to  produce a laminated stressed skin panelized building  system  for  low  cost  housing. The system used agricultural bi products from Thailand’s rice growing industry. During a two year period Barry worked closely with the Structural Engineering Department and the Department of Agriculture at Suranaree University in Karat. The feasibility study was monitored by the Thai National Housing Authority as it promised a bio based building system with significant environmental and economic impact.

Barry Sullivan had spent 12 years developing this production technology and innovative building system. He was credited as author and holder of numerous patents on the technology and building systems. Barry had designed and installed two factories with this system in North America and in the early 1990’s his partners were convinced this was a technology with specific applications for Thailand and Southeast Asia.

In 1998 Barry incorporated a company which became Siam Pacific Engineering and  took on a wide  range of design and  engineering  tasks  for  the manufacture  of  a  diverse  group  of  products  for the building industry. These included extruded aluminum components for modular building systems, wall systems, for systems, ceiling systems, as well as cast aluminum and stainless steel railings, gates and fencing products that are still exported by the company to the USA. In addition,  Siam  Pacific  provided  architectural  designs  for  high  end  executive homes in the USA in both California and Arizona.  The  company  offered  interior design  services  as well,  and  opened  an Art Gallery  and  Interior Design Studio. This inspired a furry of market interest in Buddhist theme wall art, which is now very common in the galleries around Pattaya. The Gallery marketed cast bronze, carved wood and an extensive collection of oil and acrylic paintings from Thailand, India, and Nepal. The company still operates the Gallery now located in suite 104 on the lobby for of Tara Court.

Siam Pacific Engineering has worked closely since 1998 with such companies as Saks it Alloy and Stainless Co., Ltd., Thai Metal Co., and other metal and fabricating companies, to develop an exquisite selection of cast metal and decorative metal railings, gates and fencing products that were successfully sold and exported into the US construction industry.

The company has recently established a new head office in Soi5 on Pratumnak Road and is on intently producing fine architectural designs with a talented staff of five Thai architects, and designers under the direction of Komk rich Panonsatit, an architectural graduate from Raja man gala University of Technology in Chang Mai. The company has full architectural and interior design capabilities, provides construction management services, and contracts for interior construction and finish out of many of its projects.

The cast metal gate division of Siam Pacific Engineering is still producing and selling products from its Samutphrakhan location in Bangkok, for sale in the US and Canada.

In addition to its design and construction activities, the company is continuing to expand the Pattaya art gallery and interior furnishings operation. The company is  also  now  producing  full  scale,  high resolution  animated,  walkthrough  renderings  of  its  designs  and  in  the  spring intends to start marketing this capability in the USA and Canada.
