NAKLUA’S “POOMPATTA CONDOMINIUMS” PROJECT
Housing Developments right in the middle of town area rarity, so this particular development, which lies between Central Pattaya (Klang) Road and Pattaya North (Nua) Road, really grabs your attention. Being only a few hundred meters off the eastern side of Pattaya’s Third Road, it gives residents rapid access to some of the big shopping facilities, such as the big ‘Carrefour’ and ‘Foodland’ super markets, as well as many other small specialist shops. This relatively new housing estate is the realization of several years of planning by local Pattaya businessman Mr. Suthep Srisomboon who has already successfully completed the huge nearby housing estate of “Baan Natcha.”
Contemporary Living In The Best Of Both World’s
Suthep Srisomboon was born in Naklua, so he has an intimate knowledge of the Pattaya region that stretches back over 40 years, and his father was a boat builder, whilst it was his mother who was more interested in construction.

However, his mother’s main interest was in landscaping gardens, and she was instrumental in creating the original gardens at Royal-Cliff Resort, some 35 years ago. After completing his basic education, Suthep Srisomboon went to a Technical Institute in Chiang Mai, where he completed his degree in Mechanical Engineering.

After this he returned to Pattaya and joined his father in the family boat building business, where he was largely responsible for the fitting of motors to the various pleasures and fishing boats that his father had been building for many decades. But Suthep was always looking for new ways of doing things, and the solely wooden construction that they had used for many decades, gave way to a composite wood and fiber-glass construction, which has become the benchmark in boat construction.

During this period of his life, Suthep traveled widely in South East Asia, and became interested in the design of houses from various countries, not only in nations such as Indonesia and Malaysia, but also back here in Northern Thailand. He dreamed of incorporating both the aesthetic looks and the practical design features into completely new housing styles, and his chance to put these to the test slowly came to fruition.

Suthep started by constructing commercial buildings, which proved to be a good starting point, as these are somewhat simpler to build than houses. Around Four years ago Suthep acquired a large allotment of land on the eastern edge of Third Road, which allowed him to proceed with his dream of offering home owners some innovative new contemporary designs.
Together with his wife Saccharin, they very successfully completed their “Baan Natcha” housing estate, and a with this satisfactorily finished, they had already been planning Poompatta Condominiums on an adjacent block of land.

This 7-foor, low rise condominiums are set in spacious landscaped tropical gardens, featuring two swimming pools with two jungle waterfalls, plus a children’s playground. Spacious walkways allow residents to walk to the central plaza, where there will be four convenience stores, fitness facilities, and under-ground there are ample parking facilities, or alternatively, transport services are provided to the southern areas of the city. The tall, majestic main building features good quality homes blending Balinese & modern Thai designs, which are being built using better materials, such as ‘Q-Con’ insulating blocks, good quality roofing and low maintenance window frames. As strange as it may seem, Suthep’s long experience in boat building gave him a unique insight into the problems encountered in cities such as Pattaya, just by being near the sea, as the salt laden air causes huge corrosion problems as the years go by. He is one of the few companies to use ‘red-lead’ primer and good quality paint on all exposed steelwork, and thus prevent serious corrosion problems occurring at a later date, so you get quality & real value and quality finish. Housing ranges from studios of a generous 54-square meters in size, right up to three bedroom apartments with a massive floor area of around 100-square meters. Nice balconies, plenty of glass panels and small rooftop gardens, (where it is practical), combine to give a feeling of serenity, convenience & privacy, in an urban location. CCTV, key card entry and 24-hour security give everyone complete security, whilst once inside, Cable TV and Wi-Fi internet to every room are backed up by an in house business centre for complete convenience of he residents. These quality residences are normally sold, at prices ranging from 2.973 million Baht, but as an opening special these have actually been reduced to 2.39 million Baht, whilst at the top end of the scale is the 8th floor homes at 6.4 million Baht. These prices are not excessive when one considers the quality of workmanship, and likewise, the quality in furnishings has not been skimped.
The whole concept of spacious gardens, pools & trees, will give residents a feeling of peace and tranquility, and clients from Britain, Europe, Russia, America, Canada & Australia, have already shown considerable interest in these residences. Many of these buyers either work overseas on 1 – 2 month job cycles and spend their equivalent time off work in Pattaya, or have high paying jobs overseas and visit Pattaya regularly. These “Poompatta Condominiums” give home owners the convenience of living in town, while at the same time being able to enjoy the luxury and privacy of an up-market residence; - Truly “The Best Of Both Worlds” (For further information see their website at www.poompattapattaya.com or Phone 038.371.555)
