Well Behaved Siracha Students Awarded Education Grants
The Esso Oil Refinery in Siracha recently awarded 286 educational grants valued at 337,600 Baht to well behaved Siracha students with Dr. Mark El Northcut, the President and Manager of Esso Oil Refinery as chairman along with Chonburi Deputy Mayor Sunthorn Rattanawaraha.
Assistant District Officer Mr Somchai Singhkul said, “ The Esso Oil Refinery awards public school students who behave well and try hard in their studies with educational funds and have done so since 2003. The Esso Oil Refinery created the “Esso Oil Refinery Educational Fund’ in 2003 starting with one million baht and it now has 2,921,283 baht. The money is deposited at the Bangkok Bank in Siracha and interest gained from that money is awarded to students once a year.”
The workers at Esso Oil Refinery have also kindly donated some of their salary to the fund. This year 286 students benefited from the fund.
