Uncertain times bring out the caring in Pattaya

Wanrapa Boonsu 15.02.2009 19:30

As part of a series of donations to Thai schools by Pattaya’s private sector businesses, local civic and social clubs, Achana Snitwongse Na Ayudhaya, Managing Director of The Montien Hotel, Pattaya recently hosted a lunch for school children and donated stationery and other much needed school supplies to Wat-Nong-Poog School in Buriram Province.

Anyone wishing to donate money to help the local schools should contact the Optimist International Club of Thailand. This club is working with the Chief of Banglamung District and has gone to 25 area schools to survey their needs.

Recently Mike Strouse and Evan Pinckes went to all 25 of the schools, surveyed the environment and learning conditions and took photos.  They made a complete report which they submitted to the Optimist International Club of Thailand. They discovered that several of the Pattaya Rotary clubs and the Jester’s Care for Kids were helping some of the needy schools now, but Strouse and Pinckes identified three schools in dire need of help.
