Disabled People Committee development at the Father Ray Foundation

The Father Ray Foundation held a seminar concerning the development of the Disabled People Committee. The primary objective of the seminar was to try and create harmony and strengthen the relationship between the disabled people and their host guardian.

On February 28, Mr. Rewat Pon-lukin Vice Chairman of the Chonburi Provincial Administrative Organization, Mr. Itthiphol Kunplome Mayor of Pattaya, Mr. Somchai Sirorat Minister from Ministry of Social Development and Human Security, Rev. Lawrence Patin C.S.s.R. President of the Father Ray Foundation for the Development of People with Disabilities, together with members from the Disabled People Committee.

Rev. Patin C.S.s.R. said, “I have been involved with The Disabled People Committee for over 40 years now. I have been assigned to Pattaya after Father Ray’s death for about five years. I feel that this place is the most developed out of all the places I have been to because there are kind people in this community. Thus, we have enough funds to help support the disabled people”.

Rev. Patin C.S.s.R. added, “We offer classes to the disabled at the Father Ray Foundation teaching Computer and Business English. Disabled foreigners are also welcomed to these classes though most of it is conducted in Thai. Chonburi Provincial Administrative Organization has concluded that they will try to improve the living conditions of the people with disabilities within three years. They will mainly focus on getting the disabled members to have an equal chance to participate more in public events, and making sure that these people are happy. They have also planned to make Chonburi an international center for people with disabilities.
