The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Thailand Immigration and the Tourist Authority of Thailand have joined together to offer foreigners an easy way to enjoy an extended holiday in the Kingdom.

Many foreign tourists would like to stay longer in Thailand, so to assist tourism, and help strengthen the current fragile tourist economy; new visa rules now allow travelers the option of staying in the Kingdom for up to six months.

Free visas will be offered for a limited time, and are available from any Royal Thai Embassy outside the Kingdom.

The visa must be a multiple entry type and will initially allow tourists to stay for up to 60 days, which can then be extended by a further 30 days at any Immigration Office.

After this period, you will have to leave the Kingdom across a land based border and return again to receive another 60 day visa with a 30 day extension option available from any Immigration Office.

Passport holders from 41 countries including Hong Kong are entitled to these free visas.

Malaysian nationals will be allowed to enter Thailand for a period not exceeding 30 days per entry.

Interested travelers can apply for this type of visa at the Royal Thai Embassy in their home country or in neighboring countries if they are currently in transit. This special visa offer is available till 4th of June.
