Even the foyer has acrobats, clowns, costumed performers, and dancers to entertain you as you enter. Circus goers can walk straight off the street into a traditional Russian Circus atmosphere. This incredible acrobatic show is based on centuries mold Russian Circus traditions and stories narrated by mythical Russian characters. The production is based on a foundation of circus acts, and performed by the finest Moscow Circus artists. This is a Theater-Circus format with Russian dancers, acrobatic gymnastics, human puppets, featuring stunning ornate costumes and backdrops.

The show combines drama, cultural history, and most of all the excitement and entertainment that can only be created by some of the greatest circus performers on earth.

Since the reign of Catherine the Great, the circus has played an important role in the rich cultural traditions of Russian culture. Russians have long regarded the circus as an art form on par with the ballet or opera, and a showcase for highly skilled and creative artists.

The background to Russia’s circus culture began rather surprisingly, when an Englishman, named Charles Hughes, a renowned horseman and impresario of his time gave a command performance with his troupe of acrobatic entertainers for the court of Catherine the Great. She was captivated by the performances and commissioned two circus rings to be built for the entrepreneurial Englishman. Hughes remained in St. Petersburg for a year before returning to England. However, many of his performing troupes remained in Russia, giving birth to the Russian circus as we know it today.

The circus became hugely popular with Russians in the 19th century, and soon was one of the most popular forms of entertainment. After the turmoil of the 1917 revolution, the founding fathers of the Soviet Union quickly reinstated the circus culture, recognizing it to be universally popular to the population at large, and a panacea to dispel further uprisings.

Although the performers required great skill, creativity and originality, the circus needed no sophisticated theaters or special venues and was mostly performed under giant canvases or tents.

Pattaya Park is hosting the Russian Circus and the performance has been described as a Kaleidoscope of color and a journey through time with over 60 of the finest acrobats in the world performing for you.

This Kaleidoscopic Russian Circus is guaranteed to get your pulse racing throughout the 2-hour show.
