The Millfield School is an independent school in Street, Somerset, England. It is the largest co educational boarding school, and the largest co-educational independent school in the country, catering for 1260 pupils. It is well known for its sporting excellence and is proud of its non-academic selection criteria.

Millfield will send a team of 24 young players on a tour to Australia that will see them make a 7-day stop in Thailand, with three events being organized:

Members of the British Chamber of Commerce are invited to participate in this fun family day at Muang Kaew.

Description:

This event has very special significance and represents a further deepening of the deep bonds of friendship between the United Kingdom and the Kingdom of Thailand. The event is held on Chakri Day to honor the reigning dynasty of the Thai monarchy. The Millfield Chakri Cup has been graciously donated by His Royal Highness Crown Prince Maha Vajiralongkorn in recognition of the role that sports and academics have had in bringing the youth of the two Kingdoms together, reinforcing shared ideals and building valuable friendships for the leaders of the future. The coveted Prince’s trophy will be awarded to the player with the low gross score over the three events. Participants will be made up of the Millfield Team, Old Millfieldians, UK Old Boys, BCCT, British Club and other invited guests. Participants may enter their own teams of 3 and be paired with one of the Millfield players or Millfield Old Boys. The event will culminate in a fun pool party and award ceremony around the swimming pool at the clubhouse, so bring your bathing suit! Non-golfing family members are welcome to attend the party and hang out at the pool and entertainment will be arranged to help keep people entertained while the golfers play. A nominal fee of Baht 300 per non-golfing guest will apply children under 12 admitted free of charge.

Families that golf together are encouraged to participate.

Schedule for the day:

0530: Registration opens, Muang Kaew opens for breakfast

0615: Captain’s Meeting in Reception Area

0630: Proceed to Tees

0645: Shotgun Start

1200: Pool party and BBQ at the back pool, awards presentation

Scoring System and Prizes:

Scoring System: Average Team Stableford

The total Stableford points for the team will be added up and divided by the number players on the team. In the event of a draw, a countback using the team average starting at the #1 stroke hole will be used.

Prizes:

Scoring: 1st, 2nd, 3rd Low Gross / Low Net/Team Stableford Points

Lucky Draw: will take place around the pool during the awards party.
