Hard Rock Hotel Pattaya is a complex that lies between 2nd Road and Beach Road and between Pattaya Klang and Pattaya Nua.

On entering, one is dazzled by the displays of costumes, gold discs and other items of the stars in the large reception/lounge area.

There are 320 beautiful music themed rooms with balconies.

This is an excellent resort if you have children as there is a huge free-form pool with a large inflatable ring floating on it and it has a trampoline inside that the kids love to bounce on.

Around the pool are “cabins” each with a mini fridge that you can rent for the day and they have waiter service for snacks, meals or drinks.

Apart from the pool they have a gym and spa and numerous activities for children and adults alike.

We ate at the poolside restaurant; and at lunch time they have a Lil Rocker menu with a drawing on the back for the kids to colour in so that they do not get fractious while waiting for their food.(Crayons and pencils are provided).

Our kids had cheeseburgers, hot dogs and macaroni cheese and it all vanished pretty fast.

I had a Thai chicken omelette with steamed rice and I would rate it as No.2 of the ones I have had in Pattaya (I will tell you where the other one was in another review). For me it was a very good meal. The other Thai dish and the Club Sandwich also rated well. Unfortunately the Caesar salad was poor in both quantity and quality and I regret to say that our son considered it the worst one he had ever had.

Room rates seem to be reasonable, I was informed that one with a sea view, including breakfast is 3500 baht Thai price and you have to have this booked by your Thai wife or girlfriend as the Thai driving license does not work for a “Farang”. I was also informed that the “Farang” price is about 30-40% more and if any of this is in error I will gladly correct these statements.

All in all, this is a lovely resort to stay at, play and eat.
