The recent Derby Show Jumping and FEI World Dressage Challenge held at the Thai Polo & Equestrian Club resulted in a new rider winning his first ever dressage competition.

Thai equestrian competitor Khun ‘A’ from Bangkok who competed in the competition for the first time tells us, “I’ve never competed in Pattaya before and I’ve only attended the event once as a spectator. I have received
some of my dressage training from the Horseshoe Point Country Club and Resort nearby.”

Khun ‘A’ who not long ago quit his full time job to concentrate on riding was happy and surprised to have won. My parents will be excited once they find out about my victory thjough they were not riders so they do not know how much effort equestrian takes.”

Khun ‘A’ and his horse gave the FEI judges Mr. Mariano Santos (Spain) and Mrs. Maja Stukelj Aja Stukelj (Slovenia), plus the event director Ms. Magrit Hoffman (Germany) a flawless performance.

The four day competition was attended by many high society socialites as well as VIPs of Pattaya such as the Thai Deputy Minister of Education who signed a ‘memorandum of understanding’ with the Polo Club President Mr. Harald Link to allow more children to undertake vocational training at the Thai Polo & Equestrian Club.
