Tourism Art Competition Searching for 2009 Champion

Sriracha Administration Organization joined with Burapha University and Silpakorn University to host this year’s art competition to boost tourism in Sriracha under the concept ‘Sriracha: a good place to live and play’.



Sriracha Mayor Mr. Chatchai Timkrajang revealed, “This is the 15th Tourism Art competition where we search for great art work from competitors from across the Eastern region. The competition took place on November
21 and registration began at 7am .

The day began with an art competition in the morning and the winners announced in the evening. The event was held at the Health Garden and Koh Loi public park. Competing artists used whichever drawing techniques they were best at, ranging from using water colours to acrylic paints, oil paints, and even chalk. The soon to be Picassos m had to supply their own materials. The winners received educational funds as well as certificates which were divided into six levels; pre-school level, primary school level, secondary school level, vocational school level, university level, and general citizen level. There were also other prizes like the ‘Greatest’ artwork prize, the ‘Most Outstanding’ prize and the ‘Admirable’ prize and many more valued over 203,000 Baht.

There was also artworks up for auction. Every year has been successful so far and this year was just as good. The artworks that were up for auction were guaranteed one of a kind that never been displayed anywhere before. Sriracha Mayor Mr. Chatchai Timkrajang hopes that people will come to the event and show off their artistic skills.
