Ambassador of Austria Goes Back to School

The Ambassador of Austria, Dr. Johannes Peterlik, recently showed off his tractor driving skills at the educational development meeting at the Thai-Austrian Technical College in Sattahip.



He visited the Thai-Austrian Technical College to participate in the development of the schools education standards in regards to curriculum, machinery and other tools to advance the college be level with European standards.

Mr. Somchai Tumrongsuk, Director of the Thai-Austrian Technical College warmly welcomed the Ambassador who visited each section of the school before showing off his tractor driving skills. He drove the tractor back and forth with ease. Mr. Somchai said, “From the educational development meeting we have concluded that with the cooperation of Austria we will organize a teacher and student exchange program between Thailand
and Austria.”

“Austria is one of the most industrialized countries in the world. It is lucky that we have such a strong connection especially in terms of education. We will use this opportunity to develop our educational system as much as possible. The number of Thai students studying in Austria has steadily grown in recent years” Mr. Sonchai added.

The Thai-Austrian Technical College was founded in September 1969 with an agreement between the Thai and Austrian governments. The college is supported by Austria in terms of curriculum, machinery and tools used for teaching. It is situated of 64 Rai land located in Sattahip.
