The Governor of Chonburi Province, Mr. Senne Jittkasem, officially opened the Eastern Seaboard International Fruit Festival at Central Plaza shopping center in Chonburi.



The Festival includes international exhibits containing a variety of fruits from 13 different countries from different regions around the world.

Popular exhibits at the festival include the Roots of Winter Lotus Plant, Chinese pears made in the shape of Buddha, the world's hottest chilli called Buth Jolokia that originates from India, the Solanum mammosum from South America, apples with a grape like flavour sourced from America, chestnuts from a 500-year old tree in China as well as a variety of giant green vegetables also from China.

A lot of international fruits unknown in Thailand are being displayed at the exhibition. There will also be many other interesting activities including a fruit arrangement contest. People who purchase a minimum of 500 baht worth of items at the festival will receive a free fruit fondue to the value of 29 baht.
