Pattaya Beach Area Cleanup Planned

Pattaya City administration has recently been focusing on improving the social & visual image of the greater Pattaya region and the Pattaya Business and Tourism Association understandably is giving full support. Pattaya is hugely popular with international tourists as well as Thais.

The beach areas from the Jomtien Beach all the way to the quieter beach areas north of Naklua are being looked at to find ways to beautify them to increase their appeal to tourists. The beachfront of Pattaya Bay has been singled out for special attention for several reasons, namely the flooding of footpaths, and uneven or damaged paving.

Another issue is the problem of the sex workers, male, female and males dressed as females who hassle passers by constantly especially along the Pattaya Beach strip. “Lady Boys” seem to be the worst offenders. Many believe that clearing out these undesirables as well as drug peddlers out of the beach areas and into specific zones is an urgent matter if if Pattaya wants to become a destination for families as well as lonely men looking for company.There are plenty of places in Pattaya for these adult activites but people should be able to enjoy the beach areas with their families without this undesirable aspect.
