The “Shark” defeated Bangkok United: 5-1


The 8th match of Thailand Premier League 2009, Chonburi FC has successfully done a great job and became the 2nd leading team in the table, while Pattaya United has also done a good job but still not enough. Sriracha FC lost again and is currently Ranked among the bottoms of the league.



On May 2, Chonburi FC was the home team at “Sirindhorn Stadium” while the visiting team was Bangkok United FC. Chonburi FC has overwhelming won 5-1 over the visiting team and became the leader in the league temporarily before Bangkok Glass FC replaced it. Chonburi FC has already completed 8 matches winning only 1 match, losing 2 matches, and surprisingly having 5 matches tied, holding 17 points, and has became the 2nd leading team in the table, while the leading team now is Bangkok Glass FC.

On the same day, Pattaya United FC was also the home team at the Nongprue Soccer Field while the visiting team was BEC TERO Sassana FC. Pattaya United FC has done a great job against the visiting team. However, both teams could not beat each other’s until the time was up. Both teams were given 1 point each. Pattaya
United FC has already completed 8 matches; 5 matches tied, 2 matches lost, and only 1 match win, holding 8 points and is in the 12th rank of the league. On May 3, Sriracha FC was the home team at “Sirindhorn Stadium” while the visiting team was Samut Songkram FC. Both team have done a great job but the visiting team Samut Songkram FC has more advantage chances to score the goal. Finally, the visiting team won the match by the score 2-1. Sriracha FC should currently be concerned of its situation because it is second to the bottom of the table.

Chonburi FC, apart from having done a great job in Thai Premier League 2009, it has also done an excellent job in Asian Football Confederation (AFC) by being the leading team of Group G. It will be competing with the Eastern Athletic FC from Hong Kong on this coming May 5 in the last group division round.

 

Chairman of Chonburi Football Association Wittaya Kunplome, commented that the next match with Eastern Athletic FC from Hong Kong, Chonburi FC will play its best in order to be in the record of having consecutively won for all matches. Chonburi FC management also expects to be the champion for this cup because Chonburi FC will be supported 12 Million Baht if it could be the champion.
