Chonburi Pattaya Golf Festival 2009
Mr. Akaravit Thepprasit, Assistant Executive Director of Tourism Authority of Thailand Pattaya office, represented TAT Pattaya, The Eastern Seaboard Golf Association and Chonburi in announcing the organization of the second Chonburi- Pattaya Golf Festival. The event is expected to be more successful than the previous year owing to more interest from both Thai and international golfers.
Mr. Thepprasit said, “The purpose of this festival is to promote tourism in the eastern region and to encourage golf as a sport that at the moment is becoming increasingly popular. Last year, the tournament was held in 12 different golf courses whereas this year it will be held on 17 courses.”
Mr. Thepprasit also said, “Khun Wunsadet Tawornsuk, Deputy Governor of the Tourism Authority of Thailand Marketing Division along with the Mayor of Pattaya, Mr. Itthiphol Kunplome, and Khun Kullathorn Meesonmon, Director of The Eastern Seaboard Golf Association has collaborated their efforts to organize this golf tournament.
The tournament will take place in May all the way through to September where four professional golfers will be selected each month from 17 different golf courses. The winner and the runner up from each golf course will be chosen to play in the final round in September at the Siam Country Club Golf Plantation and the Phoenix Golf Course.”
