More than 100 of Pattaya Police and Police Volunteers recently escorted two of the five men who staged a daring daylight robbery with assault rifles and black clothing with facemasks in paramilitary style on a Jomtien gold shop on May 4 to reenact their crime. The reenactment took place on May 6, at 11:00 am and attracted hundreds of onlookers to the former crime scene.
The food woman next door to the gold shop revealed to the reporters, “It was early in the morning, I have just opened my food shop and the gold shop was just opened as well. There were only two women inside the gold shop at that time. They were the owners’ two daughters. Everything happened really quickly.”

A third their stood watch outside while the fourth manned the get-away car. The fifth suspect, who planned the daring, daylight robbery stayed behind.

So far, police who are still looking for the rest of the gold have recovered only 500,000 Baht worth of the stolen gold. The remaining two suspects are expected to be captured soon because Pattaya police are seriously working on this case and have vowed to capture the remaining suspects and return all the gold to the shop owner, a Pattaya police representative said.
