“Without a doubt, that was the biggest surprise I have had in three years of this show,” said Piers Morgan, one of the three judges of UK’s nationwide talent contest Britain’s Got Talent. Who would have thought that a 48-year-old woman from a small village of Blackburn, West Lothian in Scotland would take the world by storm?



At the audition stage of Britain’s Got Talent, everyone laughed at Susan Boyle as she answers Simon Cowell, “I am trying to be a professional singer and would like to be as successful as Elaine Paige.” To everyone’s surprise, she nailed the song I Dreamed a Dream from the musical Les Miserable has and brought the house down.

Susan Boyle singing her own version of “Memory” popularized by her idol Elaine Paige in the semi-final round.

 

After that jaw-dropping performance, Susan Boyle has become the new singing sensation with more than a million hits on YouTube. She has also made appearances in US TV shows like Larry King Live and Oprah Winfrey Show.

 

With her performance of the song Memory from the Cats musical, Susan went through all the way to the grand finals on May 30 along with Diversity, Flawless, Shaun Smith, Shaheen Jafargholi and Stavros Flatly.
