Nong Nooch Tropical Garden, Pattaya, recently organized its “Love Trees, Reduce Global Warming” event for more than 800 primary and secondary students.

The event was conducted to raise awareness of natural disasters that can result from increased global warming. Students were also introduced to five key environmental and gardening concepts by the garden’s key speakers. First, they were introduced to plants that consumed minimal water followed by lectures on plants that could eradicate toxins from the soil. The students were then taught fertilization techniques, cross plantation techniques, plant conservation methods and lastly introduced to the concept of home gardening. Students were then given palm tree souvenirs to plant at home in order to help reduce global warming.
