Rotary Club of Pattaya presents scholarship fund to deprived students

Recently the Rotary Club of Pattaya District 3340 presented scholarship funds to students, who achieve high grades. The club hands out 1,500 baht to each of the 66 needy students from all 11 schools in Pattaya, totaling 99,000 baht.



The Club President, Mr. Gerard Louis Porcon, explained that the scholarship funds are awards for students to recognize their outstanding achievement. The Rotary Club of Pattaya is proud to present scholarships to the underprivileged and deserving students in Pattaya and Banglamung area. The Club has been providing scholarship funds for bright students, who are deficient in cash for 22 consecutive years the funds will aid needy students to further their education and ease the financial burdens from their parents.

 

President Gerard added that the Rotary Club of Pattaya has been established since 1972 and as of today,  is 37 years old. The Club has been performing community service and donating money to many schools and charities. Since he took the helm, the amount of 1,584,582 baht has been subsequently raised for charitable organizations. The Rotary Club of Pattaya will continue supporting local schools and doing charity work to serve our community.

 

The event was presided over by Pattaya City Mayor Itthiphol Kunplome, who said that the scholarship funds provided by the Rotary Club of Pattaya will allow disadvantaged school children to further their study, which will lead to higher education and fulfill their future hopes and dreams. He thanked the Rotary Club of Pattaya for their excellent program and their generosity to the less fortunate children.

 

One of the students who received the scholarship funds told the Club members that he was deeply grateful for the funds, and he will use it wisely and, of course, study hard.
