According to Miss Nong Nutthe information officer at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Bangkok, this visa can be applied for at all Consulates offices outside of Thailand and will be granted to all applicants. The free visa is valid for 60 days after entry into the Kingdom, she said.

Effective June 25, free tourist visas are available at Thai Consulates worldwide and will be issued until March 4, 2010, the officer added. After two months free visa holders can go to any Immigration Bureau in Thailand and get an extension for 15 or 30 days more, depending on the Immigration officer, said MFA spokesperson Nong Nut.

After the visa expires free visa holders need to go out of the Thailand. There is no limit on the number of consecutive free tourist visas one person can obtain provided application is before the 2010 deadline, said spokesperson Nong Nut.

All tourists can apply again for additional free visas as many times as they wish without a four time limit before March 4, 2010, she said.
