Thailand Pony Championships 2009
The competition was held under the theme ‘Children Helping Children Project.’ Proceeds will go to the Chaiyapruk Children’s Foundation. The event aimed to encourage kids to help other kids who are less fortunate. The competition included two categories: dressage and show jumping, which were divided into teams and single riders.
The competing riders represented many nationalities of people currently living in Thailand. All participants were under 18 years old.
The winning dressage team consisted of Khyn Tanatcha, Khun Pataratorn, and Khun Nuntitorn, from Nonthaburi Equestrian Club, with a score of 544 points. Ms. Alana, Ms. Erin, Ms. Sasha, and Ms. Cara from St. Andrews International School, who cleared the round in 122.84 seconds, comprised the winning jumping team.
In the individual dressage: category one, the winner was Nuntitorn Tanapisitkhun and his pony, ‘Cartoon,’ from Nonthaburi Equestrian Club, with a score of 189 points which calculates to 67.50%.
Khun Punchanit Sopitakamon with his horse, ‘Brown Sugar,’ from Golden Horse Riding Club and Khun Shutikarn Phwongtong and his horse, ‘Kashmir,’ from Trot Around Equestrian Center tied in the first runner up position, with scores of 186, which was calculated at 66.42%.
In the individual dressage: catergory three, the winner was Ms. Erin Buswell with her horse, ‘Daisy,’ from St. Andrew’s International School. She scored 174 points, calculated at 62.14%. First runner up was Ms. Lily Mae Toon, and her horse, ‘Raspberry,’ from Horsehoe Point, with a score of 173 points, calculated at 61.78%. Second runner up was Khun Supasit and his horse, ‘Whity,’ also from Horseshoe Point, with a score of 172, calculated at 61.42%.
In the individual jumping: category one and two, Khun Chanakarn Intorn and his horse, ‘Daisy’, from Phupamok, were the winners in 28.84 seconds. In second place, was Khun Worumporn, from Baan Rim Nam, riding ‘Keaw Wan’, who took 31.34 seconds. Third place went to Khun Parincha Wattanawarangkhoon who rode ‘Special Edition’ from Equestrian Paradice in 31.71 seconds.

Khun Woraphuk Sittichu, who rode ‘Bluto’ from Horseshoe Point, smoothly cleared the round and was the winner in the individual jumping: category three. First runner up was Khun Nappawat Mahawira, from Chaengwattana, and his horse, ‘Pooky’, with four negative points. Second runner up went to Ms. Nadia, from Baan Rim Nam, riding “Tatdao,’ scoring 12 negative points.
