Raggae and Ska fans all gathered for the Chang World Reggae 2009 which was held in Bangsaen Beach. The two-day concert was a reunion of reggae and ska singers from all over the world.

Mr. Sontaya Kunplome, former Minister of Tourism and Sports, presided over the opening ceremony along with Mr. Itthihol Kunplome, Mayor of Pattaya. This was the first year the event was held in Bangsaen and was deemed to be a great success.

The purpose of the event was to promote tourism in Chonburi while giving people the chance to relax while listening to reggae and ska music in a relaxing beach atmosphere. The event also created selling opportunities for small business owners in and around the Bangsaen area.

Thai hip hop god, Joey Boy, was  the night’s highlight along with Diana King or ‘Big Mountain.’ Other acts included Inner Circle; the famous Thai Reggae singer ‘Job’ Barnjop; T-Bone; Teddy Scar Band and ‘Som’ Amara.

In addition to performances from world famous Reggae and Ska singers,  there was a special appearance by Japanese adult film star, Miyabi.

Bangsaen was an ideal spot to hold this year’s Reggae festival as Reggae is the type of music that people enjoy listening to while relaxing on the beach.
