Pattaya City organizes Mass Ordination Ceremony

Pattaya City, together with the government and private sectors, is preparing to ordain 83 people into the priesthood in honor of His Majesty the King’s 82nd birthday on December 5. Pattaya Mayor Itthiphol Kunplome chaired a meeting to prepare for the mass ordination.



Mayor Itthiphol said, “The shaving of the head ceremony will be held on December 2 at Pattaya City Hall and the ordainment ceremony will be held at four temples, which are Prachoomkongka Temple, Nongyai Temple, Kratinglai  Temple and Jitrapawan College from December 3-10. This event is organized to pay respects to His Majesty the King’s 82nd birthday. His Majesty is regarded as the ‘blessed father’ figure by all Thais and even foreigners.”

The mass ordination into priesthood will include civil servants, merchants and members of the general public. The event is financially supported by Pattaya City and donations from the public, with full cooperation from the International Buddhists Science Assembly, Pattaya Buddhists Assembly, Buddhists Science Profession College, Banglamung, Rungruangtham Assembly and Pattaya Kalayamit Centre.
