People Networking Project to facilitate tourists
The Research and Development Division of the National Police Department in association with the government and private sector representatives held a discussion meeting concerning crime prevention for tourists.
The discussion’s objective was to exchange opinions and ideas for enhancing tourism security systems, especially the foreign tourists.
The opening ceremony was chaired by Pattaya Mayor Itthiphol Kunplome at Monthien Hotel Pattaya and was attended by many executive managers from different fields in both of government and private sectors, such as a Chairman of Pattaya Tourism Business Association Mr. Jamroon Wisavachaiphan, Mr. Tawat Puekboonnag and Mr. Chenvit Nuansaeng from the Burapha University’s Faculty of Law, Chairman of Pattaya Cooperative Baht Bus Association Mr. Sanit Boonmachai, Chairman of Pattaya Traveling Cruise Association Mr. Suchart Khuneng, Khun Rungthip Suksrikarn a representative of Pattaya Jet Ski Club including numbers of representatives from other relevant organizations in Pattaya.

The project will be researched and managed in specific operating systems in order to have it operating for preventing and suppressing all crimes. In addition, it aims to extend the preventive measures that are operated by citizens during the lack of police officers in areas where problems sometimes are slowly managed. All useful information concerning operating this project has been carefully researched and studied by many executive officers of the National Police Department, in order for the officers to treat the real problem accurately and effectively.
In the meeting, the real problems occurring in Pattaya were subjected to be solved directly and transparently by both government and private sector representatives. The problems identified are tourist being taken advantage by beach entrepreneur or independent vendors, beach masseurs and tattooist, the problem of Baht bus service, beach prostitution problem, robbery, and other crimes.
All current police volunteers will also be trained as well as the upcoming ones. Regarding the legal difficulty, which might occur when the volunteers perform their duty, however, will be considered carefully once again in order to properly organize and facilitate all operations by police volunteers as much as possible. The meeting result will be once again reconsidered by the Headquarters Executive Management in order to continue this project and have it become a success.
