Major education seminar tackles rural school issues - Education - School - Seminar - Students - Churin Laksanavisit

Special steps will be taken to improve schools in remote areas, a seminar in Pattaya heard.

The seminar was organized by Minister of Education Mr. Churin Laksanavisit at the Ambassador City Jomtien Hotel. He led the event and gave certificates to selected schools for being appointed as model schools for the area.

It was part of a ‘Dream Schools’ Administration’ project that looks at developing academic human resources, especially in remote areas. This is because these schools often lack quality teachers and often find it hard to get enough teachers.

As a result the project issued four measures to improve education in remote areas. It will change the schools into becoming knowledge centers, concentrate on students' benefits, allow all sections to be part of educational management and decentralize authority.

The seminar was led by Kasama Worawan Na Ayudhaya, secretary of the Elementary Education Commission, and attended by 4,000 school administers from throughout Thailand.

The ‘Dream Schools’ Administration’ project is an educational scheme that aims to develop high levels of administration in all schools. It focuses on students' development, in terms of both quality and quantity, and pays special attention to schools in more remote areas.

As well as student quality development, all school administrators also need to develop schools into becoming centers for knowledge development, while also good management systems are in place.
