A 2 trillion baht budget to Thailand Logistic Industry

Government allocated 200 trillion baht budget to Thai Logistic Industry in expecting to stimulate and develop it in a cooperation of Chinese investors.



Deputy Minister of Commerce Alongkorn Polaboot revealed that after the Thai government has recently approved the 800 trillion baht bill, 400 trillion baht budget was immediately allocated to use in the 2nd round of national economic stimulation. The government, however, planned to allocate over 200 trillion baht for logistic development focusing on railway and marine transportation development. This is due to the government's economic plan phase 2 (SP2) is tending to cooperate with the Chinese government- run investors whose the expert in fast-speed train, and twin-rail system development in expecting to connect Thailand transportation to Chinese southern railway transportation. Beside this, the feasibility of railway connection between Chonburis Laem Chabang Commercial Port including Thailand's northeastern railways is now being studied.

 

This project attracted 2 Chinese companies to join the investment. Its progression should be much clearer when Economic Deputy Minter Kobsak come back from visiting China.
