A meeting between Chinese investors and the Thai Government aimed at stimulating the Thai economy has been held in Pattaya.

Executive management from the Thai and Chinese government and more than 1,000 other guests attended the meeting, at the Dusit Thani Hotel.

Guests were welcomed by the Secretary of the Board of Investment Mrs. Atchaga Sriboonrueng-Brimble, Chonburi Governor Mr. Senee Chittakasem, and Mayor Itthipol Khunplome.

The Chinese Forum was organized following the Thai Investment Promotion Commission’s visit to China. This was led by Industry Minster Mr. Chanchai Chairungrung last April. He opened a Thai Investment Department in Beijing, which helped boost business cooperation. It attracted more than 200 companies in China and was able to bring in fresh investment.

That trip created 5,600 million baht-worth of trade including 1,000 million baht-worth of trading opportunities. Most Chinese investors are interested in electronics, mechanics, agricultural products, metal molders, and automobile parts.

All of the event was well-supported and held with help from 14 private and government organizations from both countries.

Regarding security, the entire event was strictly monitored by more than 100 police officers, both official and plainclothes ones, from Pattaya and Banglamung police stations.
