Police Colonel Napawat Arayangkul, Superintendent of Child and Woman Crime Suppression, Region 2, led his officer’s team to arrest and detain a gambling slot machine owner Mr. Surasak Datim, 47, residing at 5/1 Naklua district, Banglamung. The arrest was after the police were notified that there was an illegal slot machine opened illegally for kids, students, and teenagers to play freely.

According to the laws, gambling is illegal in Thailand, therefore those that operate such machines and even those that use them can be arrested. However, at the scene, the police found an only single machine and a player, Mr. Theerayuth Parnubon, 27, as a customer.

The police detained both of owner, player, and the machine and took them to the police station for further investigation.

Surasak stated to the police that the machine was brought to him by his friend, and he has been operating the machine as a commercial purpose for only a month. Further checks are now taking place as police intended to arrest everyone involved in the distribution of illegal slot machines in Pattaya and other places in Thailand. The customer, Theerayuth was arrested and fined for playing illegal gambling.

However, everyone is strongly advised to stay away from all gambling because it is illegal in Thailand.
