Thai and Chinese SMEs Nets Over 1,000 Million Baht
The Office of Small and Medium Enterprise Promotion (OSMEP) commissioners were delighted and impressed by their successful trip to China to lead Thai Food and Jewelry SMEs entrepreneurs to meet with Chinese investors at China’s Sernchern, Kwangchao, and Kwangdung cities. This trip is expected to result more than 1,000 million baht worth of transactions. In addition, 35 Chinese jewelry investors have agreed to visit and participate in the upcoming 44th Bangkok Gems & Jewelry Fair, on September 15 – 19.
Industry Ministry’s, Chanchai Chairungrueng revealed that after he led Thai SME’s entrepreneurs on a visit to Hua-Chiew University, China, to meet with Chinese investors from August 19-22, the feedback they received was quite positive. Their Chinese counterparts, especially those from the jewelry industry, warmly welcomed the visitors. The tip is expected to result in more than 1,000 million baht in transactions, as well as, many more business opportunities in the future
Mr. Pak Thongs, acting OSMEP director, revealed that as the government organization overlooking the support and promotion of the SMEs sector, the OSMEP has prepared many measures and campaigns to support and upgrade Thai SMEs entrepreneurs’ operations, including the project of SMEs Capacity Building: Win for ASEAN Market – a plan to upgrade and support all aspects of Thai SMEs so they will be well-recognized and accepted by Asian countries; ASEAN+6, Thai, Brunei, Cambodia, Indo, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Singapore, Vietnam, China, India, South Korea, Japan, Australia, and New Zealand. This project was operated by the OSMEP to support and arrange Business Matching at many road shows and meetings. This was in order for both sections to meet and negotiate their business deals in a positive perspective.
