Interesting Idea “Painted Coffin Gallery” - Bangkok - Business - Gallery - Coffin - Painted

“Painted Coffin Gallery” is another interesting business idea to emerge during the current economic crisis. The following interview could be a sample idea for anyone who is looking to start a business.

The “Painted Coffin Gallery- Sirimongkol,” a gallery to display funeral related articles, is located in Bangkok and is operated by Khun Pong who has been working in this field for more than 20 years. She said that her gallery is able to attract many perspective clients, most of whom are from the middle and upper classes. Most visitors come to experience her out –framed creative ideas. In the mean time, the number of orders has been satisfactory.

Apart from having all funeral necessities, Khun Pong has also formed a team of associates and is publicly advertising her team as funeral organizers. She went on to state, proudly, that the reason she runs this business is that she can sense its potential to succeed, as there is very little competition at this time. Moreover, her team consists of many highly experienced workers who have been working as event organizers for years. Khun Anit Osatanucroh manages her team. The services include a wide-range of funeral essentials; from dealing with the crematory location to the last procession of the ash cemetery.

Khon Pong continued that she has invested approximately 200,000 baht in the business; most of which has gone toward buying teak coffins, comprising normal to premium quality. The business location is at her house, which helps reduce expenses. Regarding this kind of business, Khun Pong explained that the financial aspect is not the key point; but experienced teamwork to satisfy customer demand is necessary.

“A funeral is usually an unpredictable and insufficient ceremony and is lacking in preparation. Therefore, the organizer should always be alert and manage everything, efficiently, while the expenses should depend on customer demands; and include the expenses for staff members helping with the ceremony, such as the receptionist, technician and the manager,” added Khun Pong
