Residents of The Village, on Pattaya Third Road and many residents around the area have recently filed a complaint regarding loud music during the night caused by three entertainment venues: Phuket, Chidlom, and Tanglak. These venues are located beside The Village and have produced an unacceptable level of loud music. The residents said that they have to take sleeping pills to fall asleep, as a result of the high decibel disturbances

The Village residents, led by Mrs. Chantana Veersiriket, as their representative, said that the three entertainment venues have produced unacceptably, loud music during the night, which has disturbed The Village residents.

This problem has been occurring for many consecutive months. Therefore, Veersiriket, and some followers decided to submit their complaint to Pattaya City Hall in the hope of obtaining some relief.

She went on to say that she and her followers don’t want to cause trouble or engage in conflicts, but would like to request that the offending venues reduce and control the volume of their music during the night, as nearby residents are unable to get a good night’s sleep and have had to resort to taking sleeping pills.

In addition to the loud music, Veeraketsiri added that the three venues should arrange their tables and chairs in accordance with local laws and regulations. Sometimes, the furniture encroaches onto the street, forcing pedestrians to walk in traffic, which is very dangerous.

Mr. Paphon Prayoonhong, the venues’ representative, has accepted the complaints and has promised to resolve the problems, primarily, by installing sound-control devices inside the venues. These devices will hopefully control the volume and direction of the music.

Pattaya Deputy Mayor, Ronnakit Ekasingh, revealed that Pattaya City has appointed municipal police to investigate and control these two major problems: the orderly placement of articles in public areas and unacceptably loud music, in order to reach a compromise acceptable to both sides.

Banglamung District Inspector Vutthisak Singhdesho said that venues located near residential communities are required to lower the volume of their music after midnight. In addition, these venues should show respect to the nearby community by avoiding high decibel music.
