Prime Minister Assets Audio Clip is Fake - Abhisit Vejjajiva - Fake - Clip - Audio - Voice - Jatuporn Prompan - UDD

In case you missed this one in the news, there is a big controversy over an internet circulated clip of the Thai Prime Minister ordering force to be used on protestors. Thai Prime Minister, Abhisit Vejjajiva, has recently asserted that an audio clip that has circulated on the Internet has been edited and mixed up by someone who wanted to discredit him regarding the ordering of security forces to suppress the antigovernment protesters during last April’s national Summit.

The Prime Minister has recently made the statement following the circulation of the clip via the Internet, instructing security forces to use violence against the protesters of the United Front for Democracy against Dictatorship (UDD) during the April chaos. He said that it was his voice, but the content was not what he said or intended to do.

“The audio clip’s voice is mine but the content is absolutely not. The clip was edited and mixed up by someone because the level of sound was noticeably different and I would like to affirm that I have never said such words in such a combination,” said Abhisit.

He continued to state that his policy to deal with the protesters against the government is and has been based accurately and legally according to Constitutional Law, as well as, respecting human rights. In addition, he said he was ready to clarify any doubts regarding the clip and blame those who made and edited the clip as the people who intended to create and incite violence in the country which directly affected internal security.

He suspected that those who disseminated the audio clip belong to a political party that has close ties with the former Prime Minister, Thaksin Shinawatra.

He continued, “It's incredible that they have used dirty tactics aiming to cause disturbances in the country and I will take legal action against those who were involved with the audio clip.”

Apart from the serious legal action Abhisit intended to take against those who were involved with the clip, he has also instructed the National Police Chief, Pol Gen Patcharawat Wongsuwan, to investigate and track the clip’s source. The police investigative team is expected to find the source and the people involved, soon.

Meanwhile, opposition Puea Thai Party Member of Parliament, and one the core UDD leaders, Jatuporn Prompan, said that he had once listened to the clip and was praying it was not Abhisit’s voice.

He said, “The voice in the clip is so smooth and it sounded to be authentic.”

He added, “Abhisit and his Cabinet should resign immediately if the clip investigation’s result turns out to be authentic.”
