Kids and Elephants to Perform in Anggalung Music at Nong Nooch Tropical Garden
Children as well as elephants as they prepare to put on an amazing Anggalung performance for the crowd at the Nong Nooch Tropical Garden.
Dr. Kampol Tansajja of the Nong Nooch Tropical Garden Foundation recently founded the ‘Kids’ Anggalung Band,’ aimed at helping to improve children’s’ living quality and to teach youngsters how to spend their leisure time productively during the long, school break.
Anggalung is a south Thailand musical instrument made from bamboo. Dr. Tansajja also plans to set up an Elephants’ Anggalung Music Band,
Dr. Tansajja has granted permission to Mr. Manij Narinrak, Assistant Manager of Thai Cultural and Traditional Performance Section, to present his Kids’ Anggalung Music Band as
its first public release in front of hundreds of Thai and foreign tourists in order to support and promote local children’s musical talents. Most of the children are relatives of the Nong Nooch management and staff. What is more, the band also features baby elephants who will demonstrate their musical abilities. This will surely amaze and delight audience members. The baby elephants will be trained to perform their musical numbers at the national celebration of HM the King’s birthday on December 5th.Mrs. Pattanant Khantisukaphan, Nong Nooch Tropical Garden General Manager, explained that the music project was initiated and established by Dr. Kampol Tansajja to focus on children’s quality of life and welfare and to lead the children under his tutelage to spend their time positively during the long school break by attending this music activity at Nong Nooch Tropical Garden. The kids will be rewarded with a stipend. The kids will be recognized for their accomplishments and will learn how to spend their time more productively not only during the school break, but also during the school year.
