Pattaya and TAT to host the Great Loy Krathong Festival

Pattaya City Mayor Itthiphol Kunplome, on behalf of Pattaya City representatives, and TAT Pattaya Director Nithi Kongkrut invite all residents and tourists to partake in the traditional Loy Krathong Festival. The event will feature many exciting activities, such as the Junior Beauty Contest and the Miss Noppamas Contest in which contestants have the chance to win an honorary trophy from the Pattaya Mayor and cash prizes totaling over 100,000 baht. There will also be traditional plays, fairs and many other fun activities. All proceeds from this event will be donated to Pattaya’s Maha Tai School for underprivileged children.

Nithi Kongkrut, Director of Tourism Authority of Thailand Pattaya Office, said that this year’s Loy Krathong Festival will take place at South Pattaya’s Bali Hai Pier. The event aims to continue this unique and longstanding, traditional Thai festival and help raise the awareness of Loy Krathong among residents, tourists and, especially, local youth. In addition, this event should help boost tourism to the area.
