Major Cineplex Group Company Limited. and Pattaya’s Bureau of Environment and Health recently organized an event to clean Jomtien Beach. Nearly 200 volunteers participated.

The aim was to make people aware of Pattaya’s environmental issues and to encourage conservation.

More than 1700 meters of beachfront were cleaned by the hard working volunteers. The beachfront was covered with rubbish as a result of recent storms. Some of the trash was recyclable, including bottles and plastic bags which can be sold or reused.

“This ‘Love Pattaya-Clean Up Pattaya’ campaign will not just be a one time occurrence, as Pattaya City and the private sector have agreed to continue and organize events like this so that Pattaya can always be the chosen destination everyone desires,” said Pattaya Mayor Itthiphol Kunplome.

Mr. Anonwat Ongwasit, Vice President Manager of Major Cineplex Group Co., Ltd. added, “’Love Pattaya- Clean Up Pattaya’ is a project organized by Major Cineplex Group Company Limited. and the Bureau of Environment and Health of Pattaya led by the board of directors from our company, Pattaya City officers and the Naklua Bay Conservationist.”
