Pattaya’s Tuk-Com is well known as an IT Center, which most people imagine as a large building filled with thousands of electronic, mobile phone and computer shops. However, many tourists and residents do not realize that there are many other interesting shopping choices besides the high tech offerings.

On the basement floor, we found a very interesting and beautifully decorated Korean style gift shop. The shop sells hundreds of accessories for males and females, which are imported from Korea. Accessories include wristbands, lace, necklaces, earrings, rings, caps and everything one would want from head to toe.

The shop’s owner, Miss Thanit Taweeapiradisupachai, revealed that all of her products are imported from Korea, as Korean accessories such as clothing, hair products and makeup, are now the rage among many Thais, especially teenagers. Miss Thanit continued that many foreign tourists are also interested in Korean fashion. In addition, Korean accessories are popular among Pattaya’s katoeys (transvestites), who are well known as fashion experts.

She said, “The prices range from twenty-five to one thousand baht, while the quality is suitable. Every item has been selected carefully in order to reach every customer’s expectations. The most interesting aspect is the price, which is reasonable and negotiable.”

The shop is open everyday from 10.30 am – 8.30 pm and is located on Tuk-Com’s basement floor.
