PSC Golf from Mulligans LAKESIDE - Jim Bell - Graham Hiskett - golf - Rayong - Green Valley - LAKESIDE

Tuesday 8/9 saw us travel out the 36 to Rayong Green Valley, where clear skies, a light breeze and a course in good condition awaited us. For some reason there seemed to be some slow players somewhere ahead of us, backing the field up, but as it was a nice day, we took the time to "smell the roses" as we waited on our shots. Derek, who seems to be coming to terms with Thailand conditions. Showed marked improvement from the last few weeks & edged Ken, who is enduring somewhat of a form slump recently. Regulars, Ray & John are on tourist guide duties this week & will be back in the swing next week, as other players return.

Thursday this week and again out along Highway 36, but this time turn left at the lights and down to Rayong Country Club, previously known as Great Lakes. The courses are currently undergoing a rejuvenation/refurbishment, and while a little work still needs to be done, it has always been a course of great promise.  Currently the greens on the front 9 are being cored, which makes for some "interesting" putts, but they are the same for everybody, you know, swings & roundabouts.

As I had mentioned from Tuesday's round, Derek is coming to terms with golf in Thailand, and so it was to be today that he picked up his first win, with a creditable 33 points, off his 29 h/c.  He just edged the always consistent (off 14) Graham Hiskett on the back 9, 18 to 15, aahhh that last putt, hey Graham!  The technical’s were picked up by new boy, (to Mulligans LAKESIDE) Jim Bell.  He won 2, & the other 2 were jackpotted, so he got them all, effectively, well done Jim.

Mulligans LAKESIDE plays golf on Tuesday & Thursday, tee off is generally 10.00 am, with the group leaving for the course around 8.45.  For those golfers, who choose to go straight to the course that is no dramas, just call Jeff 0890941841, let him know you will be joining the group & we will see you there.  We try and avail ourselves of the PSC negotiated vouchers, (where we pass on all the savings) or use the current club Low Season Sports days, ensuring reasonable, value priced golf for all.  We do not take "administration fees" from the prize pool, so you are playing for ALL your money, not just 80%, or less.  Hope to see you there, Cheers & Good Golfing.
