Pattaya and Tourism Authority of Thailand Pattaya Office recently threw a welcome party for a Chinese Movie Production team at Jomtien’s Sud Thang Rak Restaurant who was shooting a movie here adapted from a best-selling novel.

The party was chaired, by Pattaya Mayor Itthiphol Khunplome, along with TAT Eastern Asia Director Ransan Ngao-rangsri and TAT Pattaya Director Niti Kongkrut.

Shooting for the film in Pattaya ended on September 22 and is called Du La La, which was adapted from the book of the same name. Du La La was on China’s Best Selling List for over 52 weeks. The book covers the topics of living successfully in China and the relationships between staff members in a China based company. The book has created a lot of buzz, especially among people who are employed in Chinese based companies.

Du La La is directed by Xue Jing Lei and features Chinese and Hong Kong movie stars. The production, which was shooting in this area from September 8-22, has selected many beautiful locations on Thailand’s Eastern coast, including Pattaya’s Jomtien Beach, Nong Nooch Tropical Garden and selected Pattaya hotels.

Thai management believes that Du La La will surely be Thailand’s attempt to acknowledge Chinese people, especially the working class, after the film is screened during the upcoming Valentine’s Day 2010.
