Pattaya Times and other area media enterprises joined in the Public Relations Department’s Eastern Mass Communication and Public Relations Network Seminar held to create and maintain a way for the media to publicize useful information to local and neighboring people accurately using consistent standards. In Thailand, the PR Department regulates all media and issues licenses.

With the motto “News You Can Use” and publishing to Associated Press (AP) standards, the Pattaya Times was excited by the focus of the seminar. The Pattaya Times Media Corporation Co., Ltd. managing director was told by organizers they hoped other Pattaya newspapers would stop being negative with many crime and accident reports and focus more on the positive aspects of the high quality of life in Pattaya and provide useful information like the Pattaya Times newspaper does.

Pattaya Times Managing Director Drew Noyes responded that if the other managing directors of the Pattaya newspapers in question had attended the seminar they would have learned a lot from the government experts.

In addition, the seminar also aimed to create good relationships among relevant organizations located in the community to develop and integrate the whole network of mass communication and public relations fields.

The seminar was attended by many PR academics who delivered many informative lectures such as Chonburi PRO Director Kriangkrai Viwattanapanit, Chonburi Public Relations Senior Mr. Kittisak Hankla, Khao-Kheo Open Zoo Public Relations Director Mr. Attaporn Sriheran, and the Sripathum University Public Relations academic, Seksan Prompitak.

The seminar was chaired by Chonburi Vice Governor Soonthorn Ratanavaraha and was held at the Chonburi Provincial Administration Organization's Jomkaew Hall.

Chonburi PRD Director, Mr. Kriangkrai Vivatpanachart, stated the seminar was conducted to encourage all organizations and their staffs to perform all public relations work to the same standard and in the same direction, including campaigning for them to take part in any public relations related social development projects, focusing on government public relations officials, local administration, community radio and television, etc. This was done in order to facilitate and benefit all Chonburi residents as much as possible.

Chonburi Vice Governor Soonthorn Ratanavaraha revealed that the seminar was conducted by using an integrated working theory to seek cooperation amongst all participants to strengthen the network and to campaign for staff and management to take part in the work.

Moreover, it was done to provide a forum for people or department sections to participate and take part in furthering and applying the national PR policy issued by the government collectively and effectively.
