Chonburi 138th Buffalo Races
The Chonburi 138th Traditional Buffalo Races took place successfully and attracted by thousands of Thai and foreign tourists to witness this long-standing traditional competition, which has been organized for decades. The unique competition like this was able to completely amaze all Thais and especially the foreign tourists. The races have been divided into different categories of small, medium, and large buffaloes. The entire event also featured by many attractive and enjoyable activities, games, and contests, such as the funny decorated-buffalo contest, Miss Buffalo Contest, cow racing, a tug-of-war, oiled-pole climbing, blind-boxing, etc.
The winning buffalo in funny decoration portion went to Mr. Supoj Samart’s buffalo decorated as “Garbage Rescuer”, and the winning beautifully decorated buffalo was a buffalo from Pattaya Million

The night session featured by many entertainments such as the concert of Thailand’s leading country singers, local product’s fairs, folk and country music contests, Buffalo Village Displays, etc. Surprisingly, the event this year has attracted hundreds of foreign media to cover this amazing and unique event who claim that this traditional event will soon become internationally well known.
Tourists and residents are reminded that the buffalo-racing event is usually conducted during October – November every year.
